Hervey Bay and Maryborough have a range of golf courses, or try a rural course with its sand greens and wandering wildlife. Many of the golf courses have country club facilities, making the 19th hole the most refreshing hole of the round. Fraser Coast ready to shine on the PGAIn 2007 the inaugural Fraser Coast Classic was staged marking a momentous occasion as the Maryborough and Hervey Bay Golf Clubs joined forces to create the region’s premier golf event. In 2008, the tournament is set to raise the bar with a number of new initiatives aimed to give the Fraser Coast community a golfing spectacle never seen before. In a reversal from 2007, the first two rounds will be played at Maryborough Golf Club (7th & 8th August, 2008) with the tournament concluding at Hervey Bay Golf Club (9th & 10th August, 2008). More than 80 professionals will be vying for $50,000 in prizemoney as well as the added bonus of an exemption into every pro am in Australia for the winner. Hey Kids!
