The Station Hotel was a going concern in 1881 and has always traded as a hotel. It is a fine example of a single storey hotel of that period, with wide open verandas, original doors and windows, detached kitchen (unspoiled by the passage of time). Local characters still sit at the bar, always ready for a joke or a yarn.
The patrons of the hotel have changed over the years, from river travellers to gold miners and timber and cane workers. Now locals and tourists enjoy good country hospitality.
