Facilities on Fraser Island

What sort of facilities are on Fraser Island?

Fraser Island is remote and facilities are limited.

Cathedral Beach Resort Restaurant or take-away food, general store, fuel, gas, ice and public telephones
Eurong Beach Resort Restaurant or take-away food, general store, fuel, gas, ice and public telephones
Happy Valley Restaurant or take-away food, general store, fuel, gas, ice and public telephones
Orchid Beach General store, fuel, gas and ice.
Kingfisher Bay Resort Restaurant or take-away food, general store, fuel, gas, ice and public telephones

Additional telephones are located at Ungowa, Central Station, Dundubara, Waddy Point and Indian Head camping grounds.

Will my mobile phone work on Fraser Island?

Currently mobile phone reception on Fraser Island is limited to possible reception at Kingfisher Bay and some reception south of Eurong Beach.  Steps are being taken to improve reception, however at this stage mobile phones should not be relied upon whilst on Fraser Island.

Emergencies

There are no pharmacies, doctors or hospitals on Fraser Island.  A Queensland Ambulance Service station operates from Happy Valley during peak visitor periods.  An air ambulance is avialable for emergencies contact: Queensland Emergency Service 000
